2 years after surviving a pandemic, the party that was a staple in the MJQ Concourse calendar for 16 years prior is now taking up residency at the newly opened East Atlanta Treehouse (formerly The UnionEAV Nightclub) in the East Atlanta Village. Originally formulated with DJ’s Majestik, Fudge, Lord of Public Enemy and Renowned Host DRES tha BEATnik along with the incredible #TeamFANTASTIC. Fantastic Fridays at MJQ was not just a Hip Hop Event but a destination point for the Counter Culture in Atlanta. Providing space for MC’s, DJ’s, Writers & B-Boys and Girls alike, the culture lived here. As MJQ went through a transition of ownership under new management, Fantastic Fridays no longer served to be a priority to the new direction of MJQ. So one by one the Party Superheroes Crew walked away from what each of them contributed to building at the legendary Venue.
Enter the Treehouse, after talks and negotiations, the Fantastic Fridays brand is poised and positioned to begin a brand new chapter with some new additions to the lineup. Alongside DRES tha BEATnik & The Grand Emperial DJ Majestik will be a well-vetted selection of DJ’s that are most definitely up to the task of maintaining the level of quality that the Fantastic Fridays fanbase is accustomed to. DJ Kidtree(1st Fridays), DJ Redwine(2nd Fridays), DJ Nizi & DJ DST 1200(3rd Fridays) along with House Music Sound Scientists Jason Staten and DJ Doc Ramadhan(4th Fridays) are ready for action. The thing that makes Fantastic Fridays live up to its name is simple it’s love and respect. For the people and the Culture. We certainly hope that you feel that every time you come out to party with us.
