We need your help to help support nurses in Liberia! We know that the global impact of COVID-19 has been unprecedented. Over two million people have been infected and over 131,000 people globally have lost their lives to this virus. These numbers include countries with great healthcare systems and over $40 trillion dollars in GDP combined.
The average Liberian earns less than $1/day. In 2014, during the EBOLA crisis, we watched helplessly as over 4,000 people died from that virus. We do not want history to repeat itself. With the country on complete lockdown, we want to play our part to help those who are on the frontlines risking their lives to help control the spread of COVID-19. We understand that times are hard, however, we are challenging everyone, especially all Liberians, to donate towards this cause. Our goal is to raise enough to cover the salaries of 174 nurses.
We cannot do this without your SUPPORT. We’ve partnered with JFK Hospital in Monrovia to support the nurses on the frontlines. With an average salary of $20/day, your donation will help pay the nurses' salaries. Our goal is to pay at least ONE WEEK’s salary for all the nurses at the hospital.
Think about the impact that COVID-19 will have in less prosperous countries with already inadequate healthcare. Liberia is one of the poorest countries in the world, and the healthcare system reflects and amplifies that. We do not want this virus to cause greater hardship for people who are already suffering.
